My Hair Care Routine!

Hey everyone. How is it going? Today's post is going to be about my hair. I love my hair a lot and so I thought why not do a post about my hair care routine!

I'm going to start with the maintenance of my hair. Let me be honest with you guys, I am probably the worst person in the world for taking care of my hair. It's generally greasy, knotted and way too long for me to handle but hey, real life girl problems hey? This post is gonna be real. Lets face it. Most of us don't have hair masks and we probably don't get our hair trimmed every 6-8 weeks so I guess this is gonna be a real girls post of a hair care routine so lets get started.

Here are some facts about my hair first:
1. Its just a few centimetres above belly button length probably even the same length
2. It gets knotted pretty easily
3. It gets greasy quite quickly
4. I donated my hair when I was in the first grade
5. I haven't properly cut my hair in about just under a year
6. My hair grows really quickly
7. I never put heat on my hair unless I go to get it done

So my hair care routine goes like this. I generally try to leave my hair unwashed for as long as possible. I know this is bad but I heard somewhere that if you leave your hair as long as possible unwashed, then your hair will get used to it because most of you guys should know that you should never wash your hair everyday. But when it comes to school, I wash my hair every other day. I say that should be the minimum I do this because my hair gets greasy quickly so I do it every other day. My theory is is that since its double the usual length, I get double the greasiness. I know its weird but in some ways, I think its true.

When I do wash my hair, I always brush my hair before I shower for 2 reasons.
1. To get all the knots out because especially at school, it gets knotted easily
2. It makes life so much easier and it is better for your hair because I read somewhere that it is healthier to brush your hair dry than wet.
I brush my hair with a tangle teaser and then I jump into the shower and wash my hair.

In the shower, I currently use the Giovanni Golden Wheat Shampoo and I used to use the Tigi Catwalk Headshot Heavenly Hydrating Conditioner until it ran out and they don't make it anymore and I am very upset about that. I also don't use conditioner because I find that it is better for my hair and thats another reason why I brush my hair first so that I don't have to rip through tangles. But since the shampoo is running out, I'm going to be using the Kiehl's Amino Acid shampoo and conditioner and I heard great reviews about it plus it smells like coconut so that is always a plus and a bonus for me.

When I use the shampoo, I mainly focus it around the most greasiest areas on my head and I massage it in into my whole scalp. I generally hardly put any of shampoo on the ends of my hair because it doesn't need it as much as the rest of my head which is a tip I read from somewhere and I found that it actually really works. I make sure to rinse it all off my head and when I do, I make sure to put it on the cold water. I know it sounds horrible especially in the winter time but its 100% worth it because it seals the hair and makes it shiny and it conditions it because ( I read this somewhere by the way) you should never put heat on your hair even hot water and hot water counts as a hot tool/ source for your hair and if you put it on the cold side, it seals it and makes it conditioned, softer and a lot shinier. I don't wash it with cold water for the whole time, I only do it at the end because I hate cold water on my body so I make sure to do it for a few seconds at the end and I recommend it because it is really beneficial for your hair. After I shampoo it, I wash the rest of my body, do what I need to do and get out of the shower.

When I get out of the shower, I put my hair in a towel and do the twist thing and put it on top of my head ( you guys know what I mean) so that it is out the way and drying as I am getting dressed. I mostly like to shower at night so I feel clean going to bed so I generally change into my pyjamas. Once I'm done getting dressed, I take my hair out of the towel and I just brush it out and let it air dry and that is basically my hair care routine. I know it is not the best but hey, I'm not the only one who is like this and I'm only young and can't get all the expensive products.

Thank you guys so much for reading this post. I hope you enjoyed reading it. Tell me what you guys do with your hair care routine and if theres anything I should test out and try. I have kept it drafted for such a long time now ( 2 weeks but whatever) because I thought this post would be boring to read and I didn't really know what to write but I did it and I hope you enjoyed it.   I want you guys to help me out a bit. It's kinda hard doing 2 blog posts a week without knowing what you guys like to read and I want to know more about you guys. So please help me out and leave suggestions below. Also, about my big Q & A post that I have been talking about, I want to do it soon ( I'm sorry I have been saying that for ages for I haven't had enough questions) so please comment more questions for me! Also with my collab, I'm going to change it, I now want you guys to tell me why you like to read this blog and why you would like to collab with me and I will pick one of you guys. Just remember that you have to be able to collab with me and I will love it so much if I can collab with you! So remember those things and I will see you soon! School is starting to die down a bit and I'm getting a bit on track with everything but my term exams are next month so I really need to buckle up for the next 2 moths but I'm going to try my hardest to make good blog posts for you guys to read!  See you guys soon!
